In May 2024 the Special Districts Association of Oregon (SDAO) awarded the Clatskanie Library District (CLD) a matching grant of $2837 to be used for an internship. The intern would be primarily tasked with digitizing records, creating documentation workflows, and a record retention schedule.

The library chose Jordan Isaacson, a 2024 Clatskanie High School graduate, to fill this position. Jordan entered his freshman year at Oregon State University in the fall of 2024.

Jordan proved to be a perfect fit for this multi-step task, and we were so impressed with how much work he was able to accomplish in one summer! Jordan played a crucial role in improving our record management systems, including organizing and digitizing years of documentation. This effort has not only increased efficiency but also ensured the long-term preservation of important records. We are proud to share that the project has already had a positive impact on our operations, allowing us to better serve our stakeholders.

Our grant funds were entirely spent on payroll for the intern position.  

The CLD is incredibly appreciative of the funding provided by SDAO, which served two purposes: helped the district work toward completing an internal objective and provided a paid learning opportunity for our intern.  We deeply value the investment in our mission made by SDAO and we are excited to build on the progress made through this project.
